About Me

Victoria Gray Palmer lives with her three beloved children and husband in Princeton Junction, NJ, and Long Beach Island, NJ, near where she grew up.  She is a freelance writer who has written for many regional newspapers, including The Doylestown Patriot, The Princeton Packet, and The Sandpaper.  She currently works part-time as an elementary school substitute teacher, enjoying filling in as a Mary Poppins of sorts when requested as a favorite by teachers.  She has worked in the field of education for over twenty years, is a former English and Theatre Arts teacher, and has a Master of Arts in Education degree in Secondary English.

She has always loved to write and remembers her first writing office being underneath her family's dinner table as a seven year-old.  She was nominated by her teachers and had the honor of becoming the editor of her high school yearbook.  While at college, Victoria won first place in the New Jersey Press Association's college writing competition.  More recently, her writing had earned her acceptance into the invitation-only Rutgers University Council on Children's Literature Conference.  She has also completed many undergraduate and graduate writing courses with the latest one being "Writing Young Adult Fiction" with the University of Central Florida.  She is a longtime member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and has attended many of their annual writing conferences.

Biscotti Moon is her first published children's book through Surfside 6 Press in Princeton, NJ.  She has many more picture books and chapter books on the horizon.  Think of her as Beatrix Potter meets Holly Hobby.  She's a literary writer that believes in championing the integrity and intelligence of children.  Look for her work wherever books are sold, or you might catch a glimpse of her writing something new by the bay on Long Beach Island, NJ.
